Koontz is a long-time favorite of mine but this book wasn't one of my favorites. The book was fast paced but I didn't like the main victim/hero/protagonist very much and thought he was way too self-righteous and judgmental. I much prefer characters with a core of genuine sweetness like "Odd Thomas". I also still cannot figure out exactly why the killer targeted this guy.
